Firefly staffs from Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden (QSBG) and Kasetsat University (KU) collaborate with Thailand Research Foundation (TRF) to display the firefly exhibitions in Thailand Expo Research 2008. The event was organized by TRF during September, 12-16, Centara Grand Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. The exhibition included a variety of dry and alcoholic preserved firefly specimens collected by QSBG. Visitor showed high interest in the larvae of giant firefly (Lamprigera sp.)  as well as the flying fresh water firefly (Luciola aquatilis Thancharoen). The exhibition created great interest among the public with high attendance and the firefly booth was visited by many attendees everyday.

October, 2-12, the Emporium shopping complex organized a big event named “Flora & Fauna Exotica 2008 – The lost world”. The main purpose of the event was to increase awareness concerning global warming.  This was great opportunity for the firefly project to cooperate with the Emporium by display a  firefly exhibitions that consist of firefly dry specimens, larvae of Giant firefly (Lamprigera sp.), fresh water fireflies (Luciola aquatilis Thancharoen) which were flying in a transparent acrylic structure 1.4 x 1 meter. The exhibition created high interest among the visitors especially during the weekends.
